This server configuration is by far the most secure server environment that Cybertron offers. With our Virtual Private Network service we Enable Terminal Services 2003 Server so your server acts like a mainframe, but with Windows® Terminal sessions. We use this server configuration for our offices, because it provides for centralized storage of all files and programs with remote access for our users that includes remote printing capabilities. It also provides us with the ability to control the terminals of our users remotely in order to train them or help them through problems they may be having. Files remain a the server and cannot be transferred to workstations without specific access privileges setup through a VPN.

With this server configuration each user is given their own "My Documents" work space and control over their own Desktop. It is just like their workstation with some security limitations that restrict their ability to install programs and walk away with proprietary data. Some files can be placed in areas to be shared with all users and other shares can be created to share files among selected groups of users. Supervisors can be given explicit permissions to peer into file and mail folders to monitor the activities of their subordinates; and, for added security Remote Access can be limited to a specified list of IP addresses.

The Windows Server family provides superior file and print sharing performance, network security, and simplified PC manageability. There are two server platform choices. The Microsoft® Small Business Server offers an exceptional value for business that have less than 50 computers, because it includes e-mail server, group scheduling, desktop faxing, SQL Server database and Internet Proxy Server to limit web surfing activity. Businesses with more workstations or less demanding software needs can benefit with Windows Server, which is less expensive.
